Wild Ginger Day Care
Enriching experiences for head, heart and hands.
Christina Evans is the owner of and main teacher at Wild Ginger Day Care, which she started in 2013. She is a licensed day care provider, has a B.A. from the University of Michigan in Artists Bookmaking, and holds a Certificate of Completion from the Arcturus Rudolf Steiner Education Program. She has been working with children since 1989 in a variety of settings. She has been a home day care provider since 2013, was an early childhood teacher at the Chicago Waldorf School for seven years, taught after-school literacy and arts classes in the Antrim County schools for six years, home-schooled her twin daughters through seventh grade, and has worked as a story teller, playgroup leader, and an instructor in museums and summer camps. Chris grew up in Detroit, met her husband, Paul, in Ann Arbor, lived in Chicago for 16 years, and moved to her current home in 2005 because she wanted to be in a rural area and live next door to her parents. One of Chris's favorite things to do is to explore the woods with the Wild Ginger kids.
Adrianna Palm joined the Wild Ginger staff as an assistant caregiver in May of 2022. She says her favorite thing is interacting with the children and observing their progress. She is kind and nurturing and laughs a lot, and is able to reflect on her experience and learn from it. She often anticipates what needs to be done before I ask her to do it. I sometimes call her my "auxiliary brain". Before joining us, Adrianna did some childcare for individual families with infants through teenagers, including a child with Aspergers. She has worked at a variety of jobs. She has completed her GED and plans to do on-line college. She is currently studying Korean. She would love to someday do artwork for children's books. Adrianna is a music enthusiast, as well as an art and animation lover. Adrianna grew up in Chicago as well as the Bellaire area. She currently lives in Alden with her mom and her beloved cats.
