Daily Schedule
8:00 Arrival, indoor play, help with cooking
9:00 Brunch, followed by clearing place and handwashing
9:30 Indoor play, followed by potty
10:00 Outside time, which begins with music and circle time followed by play, woods walks, gardening, sand play, or other activities
11:40 Inside, potty and wash hands
11:50 Lunch, followed by clearing place and washing hands
12:30 Play time
1:00 Clean up time
1:15 Puppet show time
1:30 Nap time, or rest time with books for non-nappers
2:00 Outside time for non-nappers; we often do activities that work better one-on-one or in small groups like sewing or playing card games, reading longer books, or other things that an older child or two might want to do with a caregiver
3:00 Wake up time for children who didn't already wake up on their own. (Younger children and those whose parents want them to sleep longer can sleep as long as they want.) Children join us outside individually as they wake up from nap.
3:30 Go inside to go potty and wash hands
3:45 Go back outside for snack
4:00 Outdoor play and other activities; sometimes we do a felt board story, read a book, play with bubbles, etc.
5:00 Pick up
This is a typical schedule on days when two caregivers are present. When only one caregiver is present, non-nappers do quiet activities indoors with the caregiver during naptime. The schedule also varies slightly seasonally. We still spend a lot of time outdoors in the winter, but some activities, such as afternoon snack, take place indoors during the winter months.
Infants eat and sleep according to their individual needs.
